The strain on lawyers to reduce billing (law firm) and / or spend (corporate legal departments) are pushing them to get out of their habit of seemingly reckless billing / spending and into a mode where they are looking to add more bang for the buck to their clients.
There are a couple of interesting articles on this... a dated blog piece written by Larry Modine as early as in 2004, here: http://pm.typepad.com/professional_m...gma_at_pr.html ...and articles on the use of Six Sigma in litigation / discovery at an American Bar Association (ABA) conference. The ABA articles are available on a subscription basis only (I only saw a printed copy of them), but an interesting dissection by Paul C. Easton, available here: http://legalprojectmanagement.info/2...partments.html I thought this would be an interesting share and a display of how Six Sigma is penetrating areas not reached thus far and would love to hear your views! |
