Just rereading many of this last years posting and recalled a company I worked with called one of their many quality efforts "The Right Way to Manage". This designed to remove the fear of stats usage and such other tools that typically cause fear -- as does the mere mention of change -- so they simply removed those references and steered the efforts on a course of "how to manage". A cool move in my thinking as most of us want to be on the inside of leading and being at the helm of our destiny -- including that of making our own decisions within some set boundaries -- so this method also served to empower and engage stakeholders. Good posting discussion and I do hope it continues into 2010. BLessings, Lakota

Totally agree..."Just do it!"
Using buzz words for improvement is similar to putting a band aid on a sore. I'm not certain it adds much to the healing process but it shows everyone you've got a sore and you're "doing" something about it. |

Actually speaking TQM maens Total Qlty mgmt . This includes qlty in mfg and service space, ideally speaking 6 sigma is part of TQM.As mentioned earlier quality in all departments functions irrespective of the Quality dept being involved some thing like the qlty dept becomes the facilitator of all such activities.

First off I see you have re-actived your participation with several new posts. Thanks for joining in these discussions. You say Six Sigma is part of TQM, do you see any differences in the two systems/processes/ methodologies? If so can you tell us what they are? Do you practice TQM or Six Sigma in your work processes? Looking forward to your responses. Blessings, Lakota
